This early 1900’s old Victorian Bed & Breakfast, nestled in Southern Maryland, is the perfect splash of fun and relaxation for its guests and it seems to take you back to an era of elegance and romance.
In 1996, owners Jim and Susan Dexter decided to embark on a journey to build and provide an Inn unlike any other. Known to its neighbors as “The Castle,” this Bed & Breakfast derived its name as The Victorian Candle due to its classic Victorian features and beauty. With maple flooring and cabinets made from wood that was grown within the county, to southern yellow heart pine wood that can no longer be found anymore, this bed and Breakfast is sure that have that extra special features to make your stay a little more interesting. From a lover’s getaway, business conferences and meetings, rehearsal dinners, to wedding ceremonies, The Victorian Candle is sure to have something for everyone.
Jim and Susan love to entertain their guests, provide great food with a flare of culture, and be with their family. Everything within the house, from draperies to upholsteries, was hand made by Susan to add a personal touch to their home and your vacation spot. As owners of such a breathtaking Bed and Breakfast, Jim and Susan want their guests to be peaceful, relaxed, comfortable, and hopefully find a home away from home in The Victorian Candle.
